Paula

I come from a large and crazy family; I am #12 of 13 kids and I have 9 sisters and 3 brothers.  I became an Aunt when I was 13 months old and a Great Aunt when I was 25!  Only recently have I allowed my nieces and nephews to call me Aunt, I prefer Aunty Pauly though (doesn’t sound sooo old ).  My family has had some struggles to overcome, my parents divorced when I was 20. Through the struggles I have learned how amazing my siblings are and feel so blessed to have them.  They inspire me to be all that I can be and to believe in myself.

I grew up on a farm in central Utah. While I wasn't the biggest fan of moving handlines and caring for animals at the time, I dream of having a piece of land to raise our family on. I am a small town girl at heart and love being out in the middle of nowhere.
My family lived 5 miles out of town and our closest neighbor also happened to be my best friend and cousin. We spent hours tromping through fields on adventures together; most of my memories growing up include her. Even though we are grown and married we still do everything we can to stay in touch.
During High School I played Volleyball and  Basketball my freshman year and joined the Cheer squad for sophmore through senior years. I had a great group of friends and so many good memories from High School. I graduated early and headed straight to college, I always had a drive within me to become something amazing.

At college I studied hard and graduated with honors when I was 21. I was headed off to graduate school when a very handsome and charming Wade decided to change all my plans. I was persistent and went to Pittsburgh to finish my education, but after a few weeks away from him I realized that I could go back to school anywhere, anytime but there would never be another Wade. I ran home to him and we were married 4 weeks later.

It was only a few months after we married that I realized my true purpose.  Motherhood was how I would become something amazing. I set out after that goal; I am still working at it and will continue striving for it. Everyday I try to be better, to give my family everything, to ensure they know of their importance.

Wade and I celebrated our 7th anniversary in November. He loves me more than I ever thought I could be loved. Our life together hasn’t been perfect but he loves me perfectly and always has.

Today, I work for a school district in the Child Nutrition Department and love what I do. The schedule is my favorite part and I am off every day in time to pick Wyatt up from school and I get summers off! While I enjoy working I look forward to being a stay at home mommy to our next babe.  I am currently serving as Second Counselor in the Young Women’s Program at church and love pretending to be young and hip enough to hang out with them.  Some other things I like to do when I get the chance are exercising, blogging, Dance Central on the XBOX, making cookies, and taking naps!

Do You remember these? A few years ago they were all the rage on Facebook. I wrote this one back in 2008 and thought it would be a fun way to get to know me.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

1. I never thought I would ( or wanted to) get married. I had many boyfriends but once it got too serious I would chase them off.

2. I saw myself as a Doctor. My plan was: get my Masters and become a Registered Dietitian, then apply for Med school. None of the above happened.

3. I was dating Wade and his roommate at the same time.

4. I have 9 sisters, many of them are my favorite people. 12 siblings total and my brothers are pretty darn cool too.

5. I grew up on a farm in rural Utah. I even had a "Baby Bull" as a pet in high school. His name was Baby Bull--very original, I know. And yes, we eventually ate him.

6. I dream about living in St. George or anywhere that doesn't snow. But I never want to move again.

7. I am a Great-Aunt. I became a regular Aunt when I was 2.

8. I knocked out my two front teeth when I was 16--I was chasing a boy.

9. I am learning to play Golf.

10. I love to exercise, walking, hiking, aerobics, weights etc.

11. I wonder about how many children we are going to have and their spacing almost daily. The number changes daily.

12. Now that I have Wyatt, I feel like being a Mother is my calling in life.

13. I was 20 when I flew on an airplane for the first time.

14. I love weddings. I wish I could get married again, sometimes I see my wedding dress boxed up and stored and I wish I could wear it around for the day. I dream about owning a Bridal Boutique.

15. Wade and I built a Laundromat from the ground. Worst summer of my life!

16. My first major in college was Art, which lasted one whole semester because I didn't think it was challenging.

17. The first Art Show I entered I won 2nd place. When I was a Senior I was selected from my High school to participate in a Statewide Art Show.

18. Caddy, our Cocker Spaniel, is one of the main reasons we bought our first home.

19. I hate having nothing to do.

20. Wade and I dance all around the house-- we've got moves you have never seen!

21. I think I remember more than 30% of what I learned in college.

22. I like to make messes with Wyatt.

23. I am shy and I hate it.

24. I will never be satisfied with the way I look.

25. I have a Fooz Ball Table in the entryway of my home-- someday I will get furniture.

I would love to hear your list of 25 !
